RoboScience unveils REX G1 wheeled humanoid robot

A small wheeled machine rolled into the spotlight at the 2026 World Robot Conference carrying a magic wand, then performed a one- to two-minute command routine. The performer was the REX G1, RoboScience’s first robot and a wheeled humanoid designed to travel between work areas while lifting, grasping and placing objects rather than staying at one fixed workstation.

Its body has 22 degrees of freedom: two in the head and neck, seven in each arm, two in the waist, one lifting axis and three in the chassis. The arms can carry a combined 22 pounds (10 kg). RoboScience says the chassis, lifting mechanism and arms can work together while the robot is moving, with a control system intended to keep its tools stable in confined spaces and reduce stops for repositioning.

The physical design targets workplaces that already exist. The REX G1 is 540 mm wide, with an adjustable length from 540 to 640 mm and a height ranging from 1,100 to 1,700 mm. It can work between 0.1 and 2 meters, move forward, backward and sideways, and rotate in place. Source accounts say it can enter a 0.75-meter narrow passage, helping it operate without the wider aisles or altered shelving that some warehouse robots require.

The intelligence layer is Visics, a VLOA model — Vision-Language-Object-Action — that links what the robot sees and language commands to physical actions. RoboScience says one model interprets the environment and previews three-dimensional object trajectories, while another converts those trajectories into control signals. With 2,070 TFLOPS of onboard computing, perception, decision-making and control are processed at the edge, reducing dependence on frequent cloud communication.

So what, concretely? In a warehouse or flexible factory, the proposed benefit is continuity: the REX G1 can move between tasks, handle objects and adapt when conditions change, while its hot-swappable battery can restore work in as little as five seconds and support up to four hours of operation per charge. That could reduce charging stoppages where the robot’s intended workflows are adopted. For now, these figures are RoboScience’s claims, and the reports provide no independent trial or customer deployment.
