AlgoFET says 2,000 drone docking units are deployed

A drone lands on its station, rather than waiting for a person to walk over with a fresh battery. In Bengaluru, AlgoFET says it has deployed more than 2,000 units of the docking equipment designed to let drones recharge at the station rather than wait for someone to bring a fresh battery.

The obstacle is on the ground. A station must receive the aircraft precisely, connect it to the charger, move energy quickly without damaging the battery, withstand weather and report the system's condition to an operator. AlgoFET says its autonomous landing system can position a drone within centimetres, while its battery-management system tracks the health of packs across a fleet.

Founded by Ankit Mishra in December 2023, the company builds the hardware, electronics and firmware itself, then adds a cloud platform so operators can monitor multiple aircraft rather than one at a time. Its institutional support comes from ARTPARK, the robotics and artificial-intelligence research park at the Indian Institute of Science. The company operates from a 12,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.

The immediate customers are organisations that need drones to operate continuously: defence users, agriculture, logistics, surveillance and infrastructure inspection. AlgoFET sells to drone manufacturers as well as end users, placing the station in the supply chain rather than setting it against the aircraft makers. In August 2026, it raised ₹15 crore in pre-Series A funding from Piper Serica to develop its next products, expand in-house manufacturing, build intellectual property and extend deployments.

So what changes in practice? A fleet operator could use the station to recharge drones between flights without having to be physically present for each recharge, while retaining a remote view of battery condition. AlgoFET says its order pipeline exceeds 4,000 units and its order book is worth about ₹100 crore, but those figures are the company's own claims and have not been independently verified. Company records list ten employees as of April 2026, making the reported order book a notable claim rather than an established result.
