The S2 Max uses vSLAM navigation: built-in cameras create a 3D map of the yard as the mower works. Anker says that setup eliminates the need for boundary wires or a Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) base station, two pieces of equipment the company says owners would otherwise need for navigation.

Its dual-blade mower and extendable arm are presented as parts of the same job.

For US buyers, the announcement offers no price or availability. The acreage, slope and navigation figures are Anker’s claims, and the mower has not yet launched.
