MG 07 launches in China with 845-km EV range

At the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show, SAIC’s MG brand has presented the MG 07 with two powertrain options: a battery-electric system and a plug-in hybrid system. SAIC’s MG brand has launched the MG 07 in China, with limited-time prices starting at 105,900 yuan and a top battery-electric version rated for 845 km of CLTC range.

The MG 07 comes in seven configurations. Its official prices span 108,900 yuan to 159,900 yuan, while the limited-time range is 105,900 yuan to 156,900 yuan. The car is a mid-size fastback sedan with frameless doors, a liftback tailgate, a 168-liter front trunk and a 697-liter rear cargo compartment, according to CnEVPost.

The longest-range EV uses a 91-kWh CATL battery, an 800-volt electrical architecture and 5C fast charging. The 650-km and 610-km versions use 67-kWh batteries and a 400-volt architecture, with batteries supplied by Qingtao Energy. The plug-in hybrid pairs a 1.5-liter engine with a 152-kW drive motor, offering 245 km of battery-only CLTC range and a 1,745-km combined CLTC range.

Inside, the MG 07 carries a 15.6-inch central display powered by Qualcomm’s 8295P cockpit chip, a 21-speaker audio system and a zero-gravity front passenger seat. Higher-tech versions add LiDAR — a laser-based sensing system — and assisted driving based on Momenta’s R7 world model and an X7 chip dedicated to large artificial-intelligence models.

So what changes in practice? Chinese buyers get a sedan whose longest-range electric version is priced at 156,900 yuan with limited-time pricing, versus 159,900 yuan on the official price list, while shorter-range EVs arrive sooner: deliveries of the 650 versions are scheduled for late August, and the 845 versions for October.
