Chainlink market data now live on Stellar for DeFi builders

Developers building on the Stellar network can now pull live market data from Chainlink, which calls itself the industry-standard oracle platform. Chainlink’s Data Feeds and Data Streams went live on Stellar on 13 October 2026, and the two organisations present the move as the start of a “new wave of DeFi adoption” on the network.
Stellar is a blockchain built for financial products, and its foundation says it has already processed billions of operations for millions of accounts. The network already supports $4+ billion in real-world assets, including stablecoins, tokenized equities and other digital assets. Issuing those assets on a blockchain is, in the foundation’s view, only the first step. The next is putting them to work: pricing them, trading them, borrowing against them and posting them as collateral. Each of those uses needs market prices that an application can trust, because a loan’s loan-to-value ratio and an automated liquidation both depend on them.
According to the release, applications adopting Chainlink at launch will use it for collateral processing, loan-to-value calculations, automated liquidations and stablecoin reference rates. The release does not name these applications, and it gives no volumes for them. The launch also follows through on an earlier announcement about the Chainlink Scale program, which the companies say gives developers access to what they call enterprise-grade oracle infrastructure.
Raja Chakravorti, chief business officer at the Stellar Development Foundation, framed the shift in terms of use rather than issuance: “the opportunity shifts from simply issuing assets onchain to putting them to work.” Johann Eid, chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, said developers now have “the high-quality, reliable market data” needed to build secure lending markets, stablecoins and tokenized assets.
For a developer, the practical change is that a lending or prediction-market app on Stellar no longer has to assemble its own price data from scratch, a barrier the release says Chainlink removes. For a holder of a stablecoin or tokenized equity, the promise is more uses for the same asset, as collateral or as something to trade. The release gives no timetable beyond the launch itself, and no pricing. Its scale claims, including “tens of trillions of dollars” in transaction value and securing “the vast majority of DeFi”, are Chainlink’s own figures, not measurements from an independent party.
