CXMT LPDDR6 enters production, first in Xiaomi 18 Fold

ChangXin Memory Technologies has announced that LPDDR6 memory has entered mass production. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is scheduled to debut in September and will be the first device globally to feature the new mobile memory. Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun also confirmed that the self-developed Xuanjie O3 chip will be the first to support ChangXin LPDDR6.

LPDDR is low-power memory used in smartphones and other mobile devices. The launch of LPDDR6 mass production targets the higher bandwidth and energy-efficiency requirements of mobile devices and edge AI.

The announcement brings three elements together: ChangXin’s China-made mobile memory, the Xuanjie O3 chip and the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable phone.
