Upcoming Circular Ring 3 adds payments and vibration alerts

A wake-up alarm could soon arrive as a small pulse on the finger rather than a sound. Circular’s upcoming Ring 3 series, unveiled with Pro and Slim models, will combine an integrated NFC chip for contactless payments with vibrating alerts for alarms, reminders and more; availability is expected in early 2027.

The Pro is the more feature-rich ring. Its slimmer design includes FDA-cleared ECG (electrocardiogram) for Afib, or atrial fibrillation, detection, alongside blood pressure trend tracking, glucose tracking, advanced sleep analysis and comprehensive biometric monitoring. It offers up to 12 days of battery life, up from seven days for its predecessor.

The Slim takes a thinner, lighter route. It tracks sleep, heart rate, HRV (heart rate variability), SpO₂ (blood oxygen saturation), skin temperature and daily activity, with up to 10 days of battery life. Both models are made from titanium steel, support wireless charging and offer 50-metre water resistance; sizes run from 6–14, with gold, rose gold, silver and black finishes.

So what changes in practice? One ring can now cover contactless payments, core wellness tracking and quiet prompts that stay on the finger. Circular says the Slim is for people who do not want every health feature but still want essential wellness insights and payment convenience. The vibrations also extend the ring beyond passive measurement, with uses including medication reminders, vital health alerts and guided breathing exercises.

The launch is still ahead. Circular says pricing and pre-order information will be announced in the coming months, and the two rings are expected to become available in early 2027. The announcement sets out the feature list, but does not yet put a price or a product in users’ hands; meanwhile, the smart-ring field is already more crowded after the Oura Ring 5 and RingConn Gen 3 launches.
