On August 19, Sundar Pichai put the news in the form students know best: a multiple-choice question. The answer was J — all of the above, including India’s JEE and NEET alongside the SAT, ACT, AP, ENEM, GRE, LSAT and MCAT.

Search can generate practice quizzes in science, mathematics, humanities and foreign languages, as well as for named standardised exams. Google says content from The Princeton Review, Careers360, PhysicsWallah and Akira Enem will support the quizzes. Students can also create interactive visuals for hard concepts and use Google Lens — Google’s camera-based search tool — for step-by-step assistance.

Gemini’s new Student Hub gathers the study workflow in one place. Students can upload lecture notes and syllabi to study notebooks, take diagnostic quizzes and receive bite-sized lessons aimed at their goals. With permission, Gemini can identify exam and assignment deadlines from a syllabus and add them to Google Calendar. Google is also connecting its Deep Research report tool to Gemini Live, so students can discuss reports through voice conversations.

So what changes in practice? A student preparing for JEE or NEET can move from notes to a quiz, see where knowledge gaps appear and organise follow-up lessons inside Search and Gemini, rather than using those products only to look up isolated answers. Eligible college students outside the US, including in India, can claim Google AI Plus free for one year in more than 140 markets; the redemption window runs until December 31, 2026.

Teachers are getting a parallel set of controls in Google Classroom. They can tailor students’ AI experience to their curriculum, track progress in real time and use a connected Classroom app in Gemini to draft lesson plans. Google is rolling out the wider package across Search, Gemini, YouTube and Classroom, placing basic revision and study organisation closer to the platforms many students already use.
