Doubao Work joins Feishu, AI understands team workflows
Giving Doubao Work an event brief, registration details and supplier quotes, ifanr's testers received three natively editable files: an event execution plan, a registration and budget analysis spreadsheet, and an internal proposal in PPT. Just 1% of the 5h quota was used, and the PPT also automatically added speaker notes. The core of this new product is not simply another chat window, but that it is beginning to place deliverables directly in the working environment.
Doubao Work is a standalone office product launched by Doubao. Its Agent capabilities—an artificial intelligence assistant that can execute tasks directly—cover documents, spreadsheets, web pages, small applications, images, video and computer operations. After generating a web page, users can select specific sections and ask it to modify the data, styling and layout. Web pages can also connect directly to databases, so the displayed content updates when the source data is refreshed. The product offers more than 80 design styles, while its image and video features can be used to assemble a set of marketing materials.
Feishu's integration sets it apart from ordinary knowledge-base retrieval. After signing in with a Feishu account, Doubao Work can read chats, documents, meeting minutes, tasks, multidimensional tables and organizational relationships within existing permissions, identifying who is responsible and which content can be accessed. In testing, it could summarize the course of group chats, compile a portfolio from the user's previous articles, and inherit the sharing permissions of existing Feishu documents without arbitrarily changing access settings when generating a new page.
More importantly, meeting minutes are no longer just summaries. Based on the conclusions, Doubao Work can create tasks for the relevant people in charge, update their status when completed, report approval progress when an issue gets stuck, and find the responsible person to send a private reminder marked “Sent by Doubao.” Multidimensional tables can be turned into real-time web dashboards or used as asset libraries to generate images and videos in batches. The resulting materials then return to the workflow, becoming the context for the next task.
Specifically, this can reduce the time spent copying and pasting background information, repeatedly reformatting documents and manually following up on progress: teams no longer need to explain the project group, people in charge and approval status to AI each time, and AI does not merely deliver a document—it continues moving the work forward. Doubao Work is now available to try in the Doubao app and Feishu, and also offers a standalone desktop client. However, quotas recover on a 5-hour or weekly rolling basis, the Turbo free version has limited capacity, and its sustained performance on complex tasks still awaits testing through broader real-world use.
