CameraJet combines an electric toothbrush, water flosser, endoscope and AI image recognition in a single handle. Beneath the brush head is a macro camera measuring about 1 mm in diameter with 100,000 pixels. Together with a strobing fill light, it analyzes 28 frames of oral footage per second before sending them to the Gap Optical Targeting machine-learning algorithm, which searches for gaps between teeth that are more likely to trap debris. The time from spotting a target to liquid emerging from the nozzle can be as little as 100 milliseconds.

It uses a “see one spot, spray once” approach, delivering up to about 0.15 ml of mouthwash into a gap between teeth per burst. As a result, it does not need the large reservoir used by a traditional water flosser. The handle's reservoir holds 12.5 ml, while the accompanying base has a 200 ml reservoir. After the toothbrush is returned to the base and a button is pressed, it can be refilled in three seconds. The nozzle also avoids a thin, needle-like jet, instead using a cone-shaped flow with wider coverage. Dyson says this can sweep across a larger area while reducing irritation to the gums and enamel.

Users can choose among gentle, variable and deep-cleaning intensity levels, and switch between brushing-and-flossing, brushing-only and flossing-only modes. Through a Wi-Fi connection to the MyDyson WeChat mini program, they can also view real-time oral footage, brushing coverage, missed areas and long-term cleaning trends.
