Eufy S2 Max robot mower announced with edge-trimming arm

At a driveway or flowerbed, the Eufy Robot Lawn Mower S2 Max is designed to do more than cut the main lawn. An extendable trimming arm reaches toward the surrounding grass, taking on the job a weedwacker would otherwise handle. Anker announced the machine at IFA 2026, with a planned May 2027 launch for €3,999.

The S2 Max uses vSLAM navigation: built-in cameras create a 3D map of the yard as the mower works. Anker says that setup eliminates the need for boundary wires or a Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) base station, two pieces of equipment the company says owners would otherwise need for navigation.

The claimed operating range is up to 3.7 acres for mapping and mowing. The mower is also AWD — all-wheel drive — and Anker says it can handle yards with slopes of 80 percent (38-degree).

The practical shift is in what the robot is asked to cover. The announced system combines mowing, camera-based yard mapping and edge trimming in one machine, rather than leaving the grass around driveways and flowerbeds to a separate hand tool. Its dual-blade mower and extendable arm are presented as parts of the same job.

So what changes, concretely? A European buyer could be looking at one announced machine for both lawn mowing and edge work, including on steep yards, at €3,999 from May 2027. For US buyers, the announcement offers no price or availability. The acreage, slope and navigation figures are Anker’s claims, and the mower has not yet launched.
