At 135,900 yuan20,225 USD — the order books have opened in China for FAW-Volkswagen’s ID. Aura T6. It is a five-seat electric crossover measuring 4.8 meters, built on the CEA modular architecture developed jointly with Xpeng. The four listed trims reach 169,900 yuan at the top of the range.

The drivetrain stays simple: one electric motor on the rear axle, with peak output of 170 kW (228 hp). Two LFP — lithium iron phosphate — battery options are available, rated at 59.9 and 77.5 kWh. CarNewsChina reports 540–660 km of CLTC range, the Chinese testing cycle, and a 0–100 km/h time of 7.2 seconds for the entry version.

Inside, Volkswagen pairs a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen with a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 25.8-inch augmented-reality head-up display. The infotainment system uses a 4nm chip rated at 20 TOPS, a measure of computing capacity. The cabin also includes 18 Aura Sound speakers, plus heated, ventilated and massaged front seats.

The two upper trims add LiDAR — laser-based sensing for mapping the vehicle’s surroundings — and a Journey 6H chip from Horizon Robotics rated at 420 TOPS. The system supports Highway NOA, meaning assisted navigation on highways, and Urban Pilot assistance. The source reports these as available capabilities; it does not report real-world performance tests.

So what changes for buyers? They get a presale option spanning 135,900 to 169,900 yuan, two battery sizes, five seats and a trunk that grows from 576 to 1,796 liters with the rear seats folded, plus a 90-liter space under the hood.
