Yijing X9 pre-orders open at ¥299,800 with HUAWEI ADS 5

On the evening of August 18, the pre-order launch put the Yijing X9’s price tag at ¥299,800: a six-seat range-extended SUV jointly developed by Dongfeng and HUAWEI Qiankun, with three versions priced from ¥299,800 to ¥379,800. Rather than pushing the threshold for a flagship family vehicle higher, it targets the under-¥300,000 family market directly. The official launch is expected in September.

Intelligent driving is the X9’s most direct technology selling point. All versions come with HUAWEI Qiankun intelligent driving ADS 5, Huawei’s driver-assistance system, along with four LiDAR sensors and 32 high-performance sensors. These include one 896-line dual-optical-path LiDAR, three solid-state LiDAR sensors and five 4D millimeter-wave radars. The CAS 5.0 all-around collision-avoidance system covers speeds from 4 to 150km/h. Citing Huawei’s previous statements, ifanr reported that this sensor combination can identify small, irregular obstacles standing 14cm high at a distance of 120m in heavy rain or at night. Its performance still needs to be tested on real roads.

The cockpit combines family entertainment with passenger monitoring. The X9 is the first production model to feature the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit, offering dual 17.2-inch displays, the HUAWEI XSCENE in-car laser projector and 21 speakers. The exterior projector can set up a 46-inch screen, while the cabin also supports singing without a microphone. The AMS in-cabin integrated sensing system can monitor passengers left behind and issue warnings about dangerous behavior. Second-row zero-gravity seats, massage functions and a 9-liter dual-opening refrigerator with heating and cooling are designed for trips with children and long-distance travel.

Space and the chassis provide another set of headline specifications. The X9 is 5,301mm long, with a 3,120mm wheelbase, and uses a 2+2+2 layout. With all six seats occupied, the trunk offers 484 liters of capacity. With the third row folded, reports give expansion figures of 1,386 liters and 1,368 liters, respectively, indicating a discrepancy. The cabin has 43 storage compartments. Dual-chamber air suspension, EDC variable-damping shock absorbers and 14-degree bidirectional rear-wheel steering give the 5.3-meter-long vehicle a minimum turning radius of 5.3m.

Specifically, the X9 combines HUAWEI ADS 5, LiDAR, three rows of seats and range-extended power in a pre-order range starting at ¥299,800, targeting families that need six-seat space but do not want to pay AITO M9 prices. Its 74.29kWh battery and 800V high-voltage platform deliver a 465km CLTC electric range, allowing daily commutes to rely more heavily on electric power. However, the price remains a pre-order price, while the range and driver-assistance capabilities are based largely on manufacturer disclosures. Consumers will have to wait for the official launch and real-world ownership feedback.
