Xiaomi N90 Max EREV covers 1,230 km in real-world test

The road from Shanghai to Beijing became Xiaomi’s test track. With four people, 50 kg of extra load and the climate control set to 24 degrees Celsius, a Skynomad N90 Max covered 1,230 km on one battery charge and a full fuel tank, Xiaomi executive Xu Jieyun said. The car began at the 5G Future Center in Shanghai and finished at Xiaomi’s car manufacturing facility in Beijing, with 54 km of range still showing on its display.

This is an EREV, or extended-range electric vehicle: its electric motors drive the wheels, while a combustion engine works as a generator when the battery’s charge needs support. In the N90 Max, that generator is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, paired with a 76 kWh CALB-made ternary NMC battery and dual-motor all-wheel drive producing 310 kW, or 416 hp.

The test was run at an average highway speed of 104 km/h, in Eco mode with priority given to electric driving. Xiaomi said the battery-only portion reached 323.6 km, or 69.7% of the vehicle’s declared CLTC range, the company’s stated test-cycle figure. After the range extender started, the vehicle completed the journey and the source describes its total real-world range as around 1,284 km, equal to 75.3% of the declared CLTC range.

So what does it change in practice? For Chinese buyers considering a large electric SUV, the test points to a vehicle that can cover a long intercity journey by combining battery power with onboard generation, rather than relying on battery range alone. The N90 Max can also charge from 20% to 80% in 18 minutes, according to Xiaomi. The result remains a manufacturer-reported road test, supported by a video from Xu Jieyun.

The vehicle entered pre-sales in China on July 30 at a claimed price of 299,900 yuan. Xiaomi’s launch is scheduled for September 2026. Until then, the N90 Max remains a tested, pre-launch model.
