Diligent rolls out Moxi 2.0 to U.S. hospitals

A robot carrying supplies through a hospital has to read a corridor in motion: people crossing, carts shifting, elevator doors opening. On August 17, 2026, Diligent Robotics began rolling out Moxi 2.0 to health systems across the U.S., saying the new platform can perceive and interpret its surroundings 10 to 15 times faster than the previous generation.

The Austin, Texas-based company says the design comes from five years of operation in more than 25 hospitals. Moxi 2.0 adds upgraded NVIDIA-powered A2000 compute, more cameras and sensors, redesigned storage drawers and improved recovery from unusual situations. Diligent says the robot can operate for up to 9 hours at a time and up to 18 hours per day, supported by 30% faster charging.

The system’s most ambitious software change is a “learning flywheel”: a proprietary world model is meant to learn from the experience of Diligent’s robot fleet and feed that experience into future software updates. Diligent developed the platform using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, an open simulation framework, and aspects of NVIDIA Cosmos open world models, including a 3D lidar tokenizer.

The rollout includes Endeavor Health Edward Hospital, Providence Saint John’s Health Center and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Moxi has completed more than 40,000 deliveries, representing over 16,000 hours of work that staff did not have to spend transporting supplies and medications, according to the hospital’s chief innovation and transformation officer, Omkar Kulkarni. The hospital expanded its fleet from two to three robots, while utilization increased more than 10% in the second quarter alone.

So what, concretely? Moxi 2.0 is aimed at taking routine transport work away from nurses and pharmacy teams so they can spend more time on patient care. Diligent says the robot works with existing hospital infrastructure from Day 1, without facility modifications, specialized automation systems or lengthy IT overhauls. The platform was first unveiled in October 2025, and the company is now taking orders from health systems; its performance figures remain company or hospital-reported rather than independently validated here.
