Hyundai opens orders for electric Staria across Europe, up to 430 km

Nine passengers can fit inside Hyundai’s new electric van, and in Germany the order book opens at €57,450. Hyundai has begun taking orders across Europe for the Staria Electric, an EV version of the gas-powered Staria already sold in Europe, South Korea and other global markets.

The van brings physical room to match its passenger count. At 5,253 mm long, it is about 200 mm longer than Hyundai’s three-row IONIQ 9 and larger than the Kia PV5 and Volkswagen ID. Buzz. Its flat floor and open-plan layout allow seven- and nine-seat configurations; the nine-seater offers up to 1,303 liters of luggage space plus a 24-liter frunk.

The electric hardware pairs an 84 kWh battery with a 160 kW front-mounted motor. Hyundai quotes up to 430 km of WLTP range. An 800V electrical architecture supports charging from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes at a 350 kW DC fast-charging station. The van also includes vehicle-to-load, or V2L — using the vehicle’s battery to power external electronics — for tools, a coffee maker or campsite equipment.

The German price ladder runs from the Trend nine-seater at €57,450 to the Prime at €63,350 and the seven-seat Calligraphy at €66,950. Higher trims add features including electric sliding doors, a tailgate, a 230V socket, premium audio and, in the Calligraphy, two individual second-row comfort seats with heating, ventilation and a relaxation function. Hyundai is also offering leases from €489 per month for the base version.

Concretely, the change is for larger European families and groups of friends: orders are open for a van that carries nine people, offers flexible seating and can act as a portable power source. The limits are clear too. The range and charging figures are Hyundai’s specifications, and Electrek’s report includes no independent real-world test. In the US, Hyundai does not currently sell the gas-powered Staria, and the report gives no reason to expect the electric version there.
